Life is Short
A downloadable game for Windows
Fast paced endless first person shooter!
Controls:
WASD to move
LMB to shoot
Scroll/F to switch weapons
R to reload current weapon
E to interact (pick up weapons/ammo/health packs)
Q to switch vision state (below)
Esc/P to pause
Vision Mechanic: The game revolves around the idea that you (the player) have 2 vision states. In one state you can see/shoot enemies, and in the other state you can see/pick up ammo, weapons and health packs. The catch is that enemies can still damage you when you can't see them!
I challenged myself to make and release a game in 4 weeks, and this is the end product of my work. It's a sci-fi endless FPS game developed solo by me (apart from the shotgun model which one of my friends made for me).
If you want to see my development journey, go check out my YouTube channel (https://bit.ly/sk-studios). If the video hits 50 likes I will keep developing the game further, so make sure to smash like and subscribe while you're there to support me!
If I continue development, I'll add things like high scores, online leaderboards, and whatever the community has to suggest. If you have any suggestions chuck a comment on my video and I'll pick a few to implement!
Just a quick note - If you are on Windows I would recommend downloading the browser version can sometimes take a long time to load depending on your internet.
Edit: Apparently the web version doesn't work for some reason, so I have removed it. Unfortunately this means that the game can only be played on Windows until I find someone with a Mac who is willing to let me build the game on their computer.

hey man, i cant find the game executable, how is the file called? (i already extracted the zip file) would apreciate if you tell me.
dont worry i already figured it out, nice game
:)
Love survival games =D also loved the added element of pressing a button to change your vision and the fact that if you do so, your threat is now invisible so you must be careful! The shotgun was pretty useless in the game in my opinion, but with some added features and some fine tuning this game could really be something! I left a follow and look forward to more =) keep up the work! Your game starts around 7:10 in the video!
Hey man thanks so much for playing and featuring my game in your video!!
The feedback is super helpful, since I didn't have time to balance the game during the 4 week challenge of making it (although looking back on it balancing the game is something I will do in future challenges) - I'll definitely take it into account when updating the game in the future :D
really good game, could probably use a tutorial bc i didnt rly know what to do at first but still a very solid start to a game
Thanks for playing and also the feedback!
Yeah I realised too late that I forgot to put an instructions page...but I updated the itch page with instructions in the description - hopefully that helps future people playing the game.
Feedback: Great game, interesting design and features.
My personal suggestions:
Possible glitches / bugs (or just me)
Thanks for the feedback!
I completely forgot to provide controls lol but I've added them to the description now. If I continue working on the game I'll definitely keep your suggestions in mind :)
While I have not personally come across the glitch you mentioned, there is a chance it could be real for everyone as I did not have very much time to play test during the 4 week challenge.
And yes there is an item spawn cap, but discarded weapons don't count towards it - I might make discarded weapons destroy themselves in the future to stop the arena from filling up with useless items.
Thanks for playing, and I hope you enjoyed it :)
